Thank you. Top Crafts raised nearly £8,500 for MS
Story date: 21st May 08
A total of £8,470 was raised for the Multiple Sclerosis Society at the Top Crafts event over the May Bank Holiday weekend in Aldeburgh. Organiser Albert Lain of Finewood said he was “absolutely delighted with the significant sum raised” and “very grateful to John Bly from the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, Carol Bundock from BBC Look East, Paul Leonard from the Aldeburgh Summer Theatre, the Town Mayor, the Bellman and all the many helpers from the MS Society for their presence and efforts over the weekend.
As well as the varied selection of fine craftsmanship on show for the weekend, there were mini antiques roadshows held by John Bly which turned up some very interesting pieces including a Lewis gun fitted with a camera used to train pilots to fire between the rotations of the propellers plus a Davenport attributed to Gillows.
